
Solar Shading or Brise Soleil provide an aesthetic design solution to the practical problem of protecting a building against solar heating and glare, whilst maintaining desirable daylight.
Protection against solar heating and glare is becoming a
more important element in building control regulations.
Research shows that a building incorporating Solar
Shading and natural ventilation will typically enjoy 10%
less energy costs compared to a building without Solar
Shading and the use of air conditioning.
Apart from the low capital costs, Solar Shading has
negligible ongoing maintenance costs.
Designs are sufficiently flexible to be adapted to suit
the varied requirements of modern architecture.
Fabricolor uses a combination of steel and aluminium support bracketry to achieve a best fix solution.
The mullions are manufactured from
extruded aluminium or pressed and
punched from aluminium sheet.
Solar Shading blades are manufactured
from either extruding aluminium, this
method produces long continuous
lengths that are rigid and have secret
fixing as part of the design, or can be
press-formed from a wide variety of
sheet materials.
Components can have a wide range of
coatings including either anodised or
polyester powder coated, which carry
the manufacturers Syntha Pulvin or
Dupont paint warranty.
Continuous Solar Shading is usually site assembled and is supplied ready to fix. Solar Shading blades are clipped to support arms via pre-located clips, however we can develop systems utilising factory assembled modules if preferred.

Supplied to site in length up to 6m long. Clean straight Z profile.

An optional feature facia-pelmet fi tted to the external edge of the louvred panel. A range of standard pelmets are available. Supplied complete with rivets for site fi xing to mullions. Bespoke details available on request.

Extruded aluminium to BS1474-6063T6, minimum thickness 2.0 mm.
