Rainscreen panels are the top layer on a cladding system that typically comprises an outer skin, incorporating air gaps, fixed to a support frame, which locates onto the structural wall.
If insulation is not already in the structural wall, it is possible to introduce insulation between the building envelope and the outer skin or rainscreen panel. Rainscreens create a completely flat surface, and provide a screen behind which the structural wall is protected from wind, rain and solar damage.
The air gap or cavity between the structural wall
and outer rainscreen panel results in equalisation of
pressures internally and externally preventing the drive
of airborne moisture across the cavity and protecting
the structure.
Rainscreen panels are ideally suited to both new build
projects and refurbishments fi xed to existing facades.
The rainscreen support system comprises a range
of adjustable wall brackets, which accommodates
the external panel, insulation and air gap.
Bracket
designs allow for a hook on or direct fix rainscreen
system, when necessary, it is possible to remove
the panels individually.
